63% of the sanction products identified by the Rospotrebnadzor for the last 5 years are vegetables and fruits
The Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare pays special attention to the monitoring of sanctions products.
The press service of the department reports that for the entire period of the sanctions at checkpoints across the State border of the Russian Federation, employees of Rospotrebnadzor have not allowed to import more than 2.9 thousand tons of prohibited goods.
The largest volume of food products prohibited for importation is meat, dairy, fruits and vegetables, products from aquatic biological resources.
In order to control the circulation of food products banned from import in the Russian Federation during inspections of wholesale and retail enterprises, including distribution centers, markets, fairs, children's and medical organizations, and social institutions, the fact of sanction products is checked.
According to the results of the verification activities carried out over the entire period, 985 tons of the products or products prohibited for importation without reliable information about its origin have been removed from sale and destroyed.
The largest share among the products withdrawn from sales (63%) is fruit and vegetable products (fruits and vegetables).
The position of Rospotrebnadzor regarding products that do not have information about its origin and a full package of documents that ensure its traceability, quality and safety is fundamental and consists in the unconditional withdrawal of such products from circulation.
For the entire period of the ban, administrative fines totaling about 866.5 million rubles were imposed on economic entities that import and circulate products banned from importation by the CPS. All food products withdrawn from circulation are destroyed.
The situation remains under the control of the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare.
