Tangerines are significantly cheaper in Russia

Since the beginning of the week, the cost of a tangerine has dropped by an average of 12% on the Russian market.

The price of tangerines dropped significantly due to a significant reduction in demand for products.

The lowest prices for tangerines from Pakistan are at 45 rubles / kg ($ 0.69 / kg). The most expensive in this segment was products from Morocco, the price of which is 60-73 rubles / kg ($ 0.91-1.11 / kg).

According to experts, the supply of imported mandarin to the Russian market is currently carried out smoothly. Due to low demand and falling sales rates, there is an accumulation of production volumes at warehouses of many wholesale companies. This leads to a deterioration in the quality of citrus. Because of this, sellers were forced to significantly reduce the prices of goods.

Today, the mandarin in the Russian Federation is on average 18% more expensive than in the same period last year, despite the cheapening. At the same time, traders do not exclude further price reductions, since imports from Turkey are only gaining momentum. Moreover, such price dynamics have a positive effect on demand, which encourages importers to increase the volume of purchases.
