The raspberry season in Poland is nearing completion
Already today, buyers of different categories have difficulty acquiring the necessary berry parties.
And yet it should be noted that, despite a tangible reduction in supply, Polish processing companies are not ready to raise procurement prices. As before, they offer raspberries for the production of jam at a price of 43 - 51 cents per kilogram. Prices for berries for freezing range from 67 to 81 cents per kilogram. A slight rise in prices is observed only in the wholesale markets, where today raspberries are offered at a price of $ 3.23-4.31 per kilogram, depending on the quality.
This year, the raspberry sales season in Poland will end before normal conditions. Producers themselves explain this situation by the earlier start of the sale of berries against the background of warm and mild weather in the spring. At the same time, drought and high air temperature in the second half of summer and early autumn helped to accelerate the rate of maturation.
It should be added that the outgoing season is described by Polish farmers as one of the most unsuccessful in the last few years. During the season, the supply of berries to the market was excessive, and the activity both in the fresh market and at the processing enterprises remained very low. As a result, prices for these products often fell below the level.
