Uzbekistan increases supply of seasonal fruits and vegetables to the South Urals

Since July, more than 700 tons of fruits and vegetables from Uzbekistan have been sold in the Urals and Siberia.

Uzbekistan has become a strategic partner in the supply of seasonal fruits and vegetables to the Chelyabinsk region. Such a decision was made following the results of negotiations between the Governor of the Chelyabinsk region Boris Dubrovsky and the delegation of Uzbekistan.

In June 2018 the South Urals agroholding "Churilovo" concluded a strategic agreement with the state holding "Uzbekkozikavkatholding" and its subdivision "Uzagroexport" and the leading agricultural producers for the supply of seasonal vegetables and fruits. From July 2018, supplies to the territory of the Urals and Siberia from Uzbekistan began. During this time, more than 700 tons of fruits and vegetables were received and sold.

Recall that last year the volume of agricultural exports in the Chelyabinsk region in Uzbekistan amounted to 11.7 thousand tons. In the same year from Uzbekistan to the territory of the region were imported 1.45 thousand tons of dried fruits, nuts and fruits.

During the previous talks, the sides discussed cooperation in the agro-industrial complex, agricultural supplies, trade and economic cooperation and development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Chelyabinsk region. Representatives of Uzbekistan and the Chelyabinsk region are confident that trade and economic relations will continue to develop on a mutually beneficial basis.

The parties expressed their desire to cooperate in the field of training specialists for the agricultural sector. At the beginning of summer 80 students of the Tashkent State Agrarian University were selected to study at the South Ural State Agrarian University. In the future, the number of students can grow to 150 people.
